This Sunday

This Sunday Bob Kauflin will be with us preaching God’s word to us.  Bob plays a multi-faceted role today by training pastors and worship leaders in the theology and practicals of worship, leading corporate worship at various events, and overseeing the recording projects of Sovereign Grace Ministries. He also blogs on “worship, music, and more” at worshipmatters.com. Most recently he has written a book called Worship Matters: Leading Others to Encounter the Greatness of God, available through Crossway Books.

Bob and his wife Julie have also been wonderful friends to Marie and me.  I have known Bob for over 20 years!  We met in 1988 when I was 16 years old and we have been able to serve in many ways together since then.  I simply can’t wait for Sunday, to see how the Lord will work through our good friend.

To get to know more about Bob, please visit worshipmatters.com.  You will be encouraged!

Grace to you today,

Eric

Tomorrow Morning at SGC

Good evening!  Weather.com says it’s 87 degrees right now (8:15 p.m.) but feels like 95!  I hope you’ve found a way to stay cool today (and this week).  We look forward to gathering tomorrow morning as a church.  If you are planning to visit, we look forward to meeting you and hope you are blessed by the Lord at our service.  For all who can come, we have a prayer meeting for our service at 9:00 in the Spurgeon Room.  This group has faithfully met for years praying for God to bless our time together.  Please join us if you can.

Our meeting will start at 10:00 with a time of singing.  Last week we studied the story of the 10 lepers and the response of the 1.  It will be wonderful to put into practice our own joyful thanksgiving for all the Jesus has done for us.  We also have a Baby Dedication tomorrow morning where parents in our church will have an opportunity to dedicate their children to the Lord and ask for His blessing and help in their parenting.  Our sermon will be the last in our Community of Grace series.  Finally, we will close our time with an opportunity for prayer and ministry and will dismiss to the lobby for a cup of coffee.

We look forward to seeing you Lord willing,

Eric

Good afternoon!

I hope you are having a great day.  This morning’s Father / Son Wiffleball Tournament was a lot of fun, lots of heat, lots of laughs but not lots of winners! Only one team per division took the prize, but we had a great time together.

We are looking forward to gathering as a church tomorrow morning.  Our Sunday morning prayer team will meet at 9:00 in the Spurgeon Room.  All are welcome to join us as we pray for God to pour out His grace on us during our service.  We will begin at 10:00 with a time of singing.  Jordan Smith will be leading us and we are planning to celebrate communion tomorrow morning during worship.  Also, we are looking forward to honoring all the dads this Fathers Day and we do have a prize to give away as well.  While only one will win, we hope that all the dads will be encouraged and blessed tomorrow.  Our sermon will continue in the Community of Grace series and will focus on the theme of gratefulness.

After our service we will be available to pray for anyone in need and will dismiss to the lobby for a cup of coffee.

Have a great night and we’ll see you in the morning, Lord willing!

Eric

Tomorrow Morning at SGC

Good afternoon!  I hope you are having a great weekend.  I just returned from the SGC Graduation.  It is so good to see God’s kindness to these students and their families!  We are looking forward to gathering tomorrow morning as a church.  Our day will begin at 8:30 with our New Members Class and our Bible for Life Classes.  If you are interested in either, please check them out on our website.

Our service will begin at 10:00 with a time of singing to our Savior.  We are excited to show a video of the baptism a couple of weeks ago and look forward to being able to celebrate that special day together as a church.

Our sermon will continue in the Community of Grace series.

And, as usual, we will conclude our service with a chance to pray for anyone in need and will dismiss to a cup of coffee in the lobby.  We look forward to seeing you there.

Grace to you,

Eric

Tomorrow Morning at SGC

Good afternoon!  I hope you are having a great day.  We are looking forward to our meeting tomorrow morning.  Our day begins at 8:30 with both our New Members Class and our Bible for Life classes. If you are interested in either, please check them out online.  At 9:00 a group will gather in the Spurgeon Room to meet for prayer for our meeting.   Please join us if you can.

Our worship service will begin at 10:00.  Matt Davis will be leading us in worship and we look forward to celebrating all that Christ has accomplished for us.  During our offering, we will continue to collect Building Fund pledges (the cards will be available tomorrow).  Also, we are beginning a new sermon series tomorrow that will last for the next 5-6 weeks.  It will be our second application series from our study in Galatians called – Community of Grace.   We’ll explain more tomorrow, but we are looking forward to what God has for us as a church in this new series.

Finally, tomorrow after church we have a baptism.  Over a dozen folks are going to be baptized in water in obedience to Scripture and as a public proclamation of their faith in Christ!  Of course, the whole church is invited out to celebrate with those who will be baptized.  We’ll have directions to the baptism available tomorrow.

We’ll see you, Lord willing, in the morning!

Good evening!  I hope you have had a wonderful night. We look forward to gathering together tomorrow for our Sunday service and look forward to seeing you.  Tomorrow, as you know, is Mother’s Day and we look forward to honoring all of the mom’s who will be with us.  We simply have the highest respect for you ladies and are praying that God richly blesses you tomorrow.

Our morning begins at 8:30 with our New Members Class.  If you are interested in joining this class – you can.  Just show up tomorrow at 8:30 and Brett Campbell will take care of you.  At 9:00 we will gather for Sunday morning prayer in the Spurgeon Room.  Please join us if you can.

Our service will begin at 10:00 as Jordan Smith leads us in worship.  We’re planning to learn a new song written by Matt Redman called You Alone Can Rescue.  You can listen to it here. We’re also looking forward to hearing a testimony from Loren and Angela Jones about how the Lord has recently added to their family!  Then we’ll have a chance for one mom to win a special Mother’s Day prize!  Finally, our sermon will be our last in the series on the Holy Spirit.  We are looking forward to concluding this series with a look at God’s heart for us regarding our experience of the Holy Spirit in everyday life.  Too often we narrowly define the work of the Spirit as spectacular manifestations, when all along He is at work, in us and around us everyday.

We’ll see you in the morning!

Eric
